New service will give users access to 100,000 books for a low monthly fee.
Reading books on a mobile device is old-hat. And it used to require that each book be purchased separately.
Oyster, a New York-based company, aims to create a Netflix-like service for books. One that gives users access to thousands of titles with a few taps of the old touchscreen, reports Techlicious.
For $9.95 a month, readers will have access to 100,000 titles – ranging from contemporary best sellers to classics – with new titles added regularly.
Invitations for the service can be requested on the service’s website now. Oyster is currently only available on iOS devices – iPhones and iPods – but will soon be extended to Android phones and tablets, including Kindles, in the near future.
